La Domaine du Couloubrier

near Grasse, South of France

Domaine St. Jacques de Couloubrier is an estate of 20 acres planted with olives, cypresses and fruit trees to the South West of Grasse. The house itself is large and beautiful and situated on a South-facing hill top with fine views over woods and the superbly restored gardens and terraces.

The garden was originally designed by the noted designer and landscape architect Russell Page and documented in one of his books; it has now been sensitively restored to Page's original specification.

The addition of orchards and arboretum extend the range of plantsavailable to be seen. An olive grove has also been restored and oil is once again being produced.

To the edges of the garden are areas of wild Maquis where Cistus, Mastic and wild orchids can be found.
